WWE is discussing adding a third hour to SmackDown along with moving the blue brand to another day of the week.
WWE is considering all factors as it determines on a 3rd hour of SmackDown as it would require SmackDown to broadcast on a alternate channel for a 3rd hour to happen as FOX news needs to air at 10pm ET.
Vince McMahon and Nick Khan are considering all options moving forward but a 3rd hour of SmackDown is definitely a desire of WWE due to it making more revenue for WWE and increasing tv rights revenue.
WWE is also discussing moving SmackDown to another day of the week especially in the instance that they move to a 3rd hour. It will also be a better way for more viewers to watch a 3-hour SmackDown due to Friday Nights typically a fun night when most couples and families go out.
Tuesday and Thursday are currently being discussed as the most probable nights to land SmackDown.
WWE is constantly looking into the future in ways to maximize and optimize its earning potential and finding ways to enhance SmackDown to a bigger and better brand is another example that WWE is trying to bring more excitement to the WWE Universe.
