The WWE World HeavyWeight Championship was officially unveiled by WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H on Monday Night RAW.
This title has been a concept spearheaded by Triple H and the title had been going over many designs drafts for almost a year before final approval was given by Vince McMahon and Triple H.
We previously reported (read below) that the WWE Draft would begin the Triple H era in WWE. This title signifies that new beginning as Triple H will be very hands on with all creative plans involving this title.
As we have previously reported there is no end in sight for Roman Reigns to drop the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship as The Tribal Chief is approaching 1000 days as champion on May 27th 2023.
Once WWE officials knew that there are no immediate plans for Roman Reigns to lose they started discussing a new title to be introduced.
The WWE World HeavyWeight Championship will be defended on all premium live events and will be held by a full time WWE SuperStar that will appear weekly.
This title will also give a chance for other WWE superstars to compete for WWE Gold not have to rely on the United States and Intercontinental Championships as often.
WWE officials are also excited about WWE champion vs WWE champion matches returning at Survivor Series which is something that went away due to Roman Reigns having a chokehold on all the belts.
WWE is looking to crown a new WWE World HeavyWeight Champion soon and newer WWE SuperStars who are not yet on the level of Roman Reigns can compete for the new title.
