Johnny Knoxville vs Sami Zayn is a featured feud WWE officials are looking to place on the WrestleMania 38 card.
The Johnny Knoxville vs Sami Zayn feud has been brewing ever since Knoxville debuted in WWE. Johnny Knoxville qualified for the men’s Royal Rumble during the Jan. 7th SmackDown episode, Knoxville took criticism from WWE star Sami Zayn, saying he didn’t have what it takes to compete in the ring. This isn’t ‘Jackass,’ ” Zayn commented. “I’m trying to be nice about this, but you’re not qualified to do this.” Knoxville threw Zayn over the top after Zayn’s match and announcers stated that Knoxville has qualified for the Royal Rumble.
The feud continued at the Jackass movie world premiere red carpet when the two stars got into it and Sami Zayn got thrown out.
Sami Zayn is now the new WWE Intercontinental Champion, wether the championship will be involved in this feud is yet to be seen but the main focus will be that WWE is looking to combine mainstream with wrestling as this theme is a high priority on the list moving forward for the company.
Another back-up plan is to have Zayn vs another WWE star but with Johnny Knoxville in Zayn’s opponents corner.
WWE views this as a opportunity to gain more viewers as Jackass has more of less the same age and demographic of viewers as WWE and is a main staple on MTV. WWE wants to gain better working relationships with Disney and MTV.
