Ronda Rousey is back in WWE after almost a 3-year hiatus and has her sights on WWE Championship Gold after returning and winning the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match on January 29th. Ronda Rousey made her return by entering number 28 in the Women’s Royal Rumble match and eliminating WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair.
Ronda’s last match in WWE before this was on April, 7th 2019 at WrestleMania 35 against Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch in a winner takes all triple threat match for both the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Championships.
WWE has plans to make their product more mainstream and more appealing to potential buyers as WWE gets closer and closer to a sale and Ronda Rousey is a perfect choice for this plan.
WWE wants Ronda Rousey to have a dominating run as WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion in 2022 after WrestleMania 38.
WWE also wants to feature Ronda Rousey as the face of the women’s division in this new year. WWE May have strong stars such Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch but still after a three year absence Ronda Rousey is still more popular and more of a household name than most.
WWE will look to line up potential competitors for Ronda Rousey as WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion after WrestleMania 38. This will lead to a mega main event match at WrestleMania 39 taking place in Los Angeles, CA in 2023.
WWE is looking to build up WrestleMania 39 as a huge mainstream star attraction and Ronda Rousey will be one of the major attractions for that show. WWE officials are building the WrestleMania 39 card now and well in advance.
