Goldberg is back in the WWE Universe and has set his sights on the WWE Championship and Drew McIntyre. Goldberg has not wrestled since losing the WWE Universal Championship to Bruan Strowman at WrestleMania 36 in 2020.
Goldberg had been speculated for the Royal Rumble match but Vince McMahon made the decision to change storyline plans for the Royal Rumble.
One of the main factors in having Goldberg face Drew McIntyre is that WWE officials do not want anyone or anything slowing down the momentum of Roman Reign’s current heel run with Paul Heyman. WWE officials agree across the board that Roman Reigns is the best character on WWE television.
Goldberg vs Drew McIntyre will be booked and built upon the idea of the new generation vs the old generation. WWE wants Goldberg to give back to the company by helping and teaching younger superstars to grow into modern day legends.
WWE has two options they are discussing for this match
• 1: The first involves Goldberg winning the WWE Championship by possible outside interference and then for Drew McIntyre to reclaim the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 37
• 2: The second option involves Drew McIntyre to beat Goldberg clean and and add another notch on his belt as we move forward in this new Roman/McIntyre era of WWE.
WWE is planning to continue pushing Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre as the two top stars of the company and different legend names like The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Triple H and now Goldberg are used to achieve this goal and get these two superstars over. Stay tuned to SW for the latest updates.
