Triple H is actively pushing for NXT to be moved to Tuesday Nights on USA while Vince McMahon is less than excited for that prospective idea and here is why.
Triple H is currently discussing the idea of moving NXT to Tuesday nights as a way to “avoid” All Elite Wrestling’s “Dynamite” which has beaten NXT in ratings almost every single week over a year and counting. Triple H feels that a move to Tuesday would allow Pro Wrestling fans to enjoy NXT and Dynamite without having to choose between the two shows airing on the same night and same time thus giving NXT a opportunity to shine on its own without any competition.
Vince McMahon does not want to give an inch to AEW and McMahon still very much has an old school bookers mentality to protect your territory at all cost. Giving up the Wednesday time slot to be fully occupied means AEW will have the opportunity to grow and reach the coveted million viewers mark. Something that Vince McMahon does not want happening.
NBC/Peacock/USA officials have also presented this idea of moving NXT to Tuesday as a way to better present WWE programming without the AEW competition.
A year ago Vince McMahon was adamant about not moving NXT to another night but his tune has recently changed as Vince McMahon is currently preparing WWE for when he is no longer here.
The weekly WWE programming would be as follows
Monday – RAW
Tuesday – NXT
Friday – SmackDown
Saturday – Takeover
Sunday – WWE PPV’s
Triple H may get his wish soon if NBC/USA/Peacock officials also get the last say. Stay tuned to Slice Wrestling for the latest updates.
