Finn Bálor vs Karrion Kross for the NXT Championship is currently being discussed by WWE officials.
Both stars seem to have parallel real life stories as they were both injured in NXT Championship matches.
Karrion Kross was injured (separated shoulder) during his match against Kieth Lee at NXT TakeOver XXX which saw Kross relinquish the title shortly after.
Finn Bálor was injured (broken jaw) in his NXT title defense against Kyle O’Reilly at NXT TakeOver 31.
Finn Bálor is still the NXT Champion and Triple H was adamant about letting Bálor keep his championship while he rehabs due to Bálor having a string of bad luck with championships and injuries.
In 2016 after beating Seth Rollins at SummerSlam in NYC for the inaugural WWE Universal Championship, Finn Bálor was forced to relinquish the title due to a injury (shoulder) in that match.
Now NXT officials are planning a clash between these two superstars at a upcoming NXT TakeOver.
Triple H and Shawn Michaels agree that this match would be best suited for the NXT TakeOver event during WrestleMania 37 Weekend but the current “Wednesday Night Wars” with AEW may move this match ahead of schedule.
NXT is currently trying to figure out ways to compete with AEW in the ratings and a Bálor vs Kross program would definitely peak the interest of viewers.
