New WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch attended the blue carpet premiere of Star Trek Starfleet Academy in New York City.
Becky Lynch will play Lieutenant Ya, a bridge crew member on the USS Athena. Starfleet Academy is set in the 32nd century, following events in Star Trek: Discovery.
While speaking in an interview with Collider, Becky Lynch described her connection with Star Trek while growing up in Ireland.
“I grew up when Star Trek was one of the two shows that was on TV in Ireland, on whatever four channels we had, so it was always on in the background. I can’t say that I sat down and watched, but I did love the movies. And Colm Meaney. We all love Colm Meaney, any time he was on, you sit down and watch that.”
