Vince McMahon has struck again..
After months of building The Fiend character into a terrorizing monster all of that ended on Thursday as Goldberg beat The Fiend and took the WWE Universal Championship.
We have received numerous feedback from disgruntled WWE fans lashing out at WWE’s booking decisions.
The idea behind Vince McMahon’s thinking and booking strategy is mainly one goal, to get Roman Reigns back on top of WWE. We previously reported (read below) on the upcoming Goldberg vs Roman Reigns match at WrestleMania match.
Vince McMahon feels that the WWE fans would’ve revolted against Roman Reigns in a match against The Fiend especially for the Universal Championship. Enter Bill Goldberg who is essentially a transitional champion who will lose his WWE Universal Championship to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 36.
Vince McMahon is fully aware that most WWE fans are rejecting Goldberg as Champion and is betting that the WWE Universe will support Roman Reigns and thus finally getting Roman over as the company’s top babyface. Another aspect in this booking strategy is that WrestleMania is being held in Tampa, FL which Florida is where Roman Reigns is from. Vince McMahon is banking on Roman’s hometown support to also play a part in succeeding in this booking strategy.
The question remains as what now happens to The Fiend which suffered a clean loss in three minutes to Goldberg and the damage to his character is massive. The Fiend will now go on to face John Cena in a special attractions match at WrestleMania 36.
Turbulence is now ahead on the road to WrestleMania in which was a otherwise solid build. Let’s hope this is the only poor booking decision by Vince McMahon for WrestleMania.
