“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes is set to make his triumphant return to the WWE Universe.
Cody Rhodes has been sidelined due to a torn pectoral surgery which took place shortly after the Hell in a Cell premium live event on June 5th.
Cody Rhodes’ in-ring return comes at the right time as WWE is actively designing all WrestleMania 39 plans and matches.
Cody Rhodes made it perfectly clear that his one true goal in WWE is to attain the WWE Championship something his father Dusty Rhodes never got the chance to accomplish.
Cody Rhodes is set to make his WWE in-ring return at the 2023 Royal Rumble which takes place on January 28th 2023 in San Antonio, TX.
There are many variables into Cody Rhodes winning the RAW WWE World Championship which is dependent on other big WrestleMania 39 plans WWE is working on.
WWE is working on a long-term plan for Cody Rhodes to win the WWE World Championship and do not want to hot shot the belt on him just because everyone assumes he should win.
Cody Rhodes signed a multi-year WWE contract in April 2022.

I’m back doing what I used to, every day on the road. They were wonderful enough to get me a bus, so my family could be with me. I got everyone here with me tonight [for WrestleMania Saturday]. They bet on me, so I’m going to bet on WWE. I’m really looking forward to it.” – Cody said in an interview via “The Ringer”.
As the big names return WWE is looking to place Cody Rhodes against his WWE nemesis Seth Rollins again as Tripe H believes the two superstars have a great chemistry that makes great storytelling.
“Cody Rhodes will have his biggest year in 2023.” a source tells SW and “WWE wants to establish Cody Rhodes similar to Hulk Hogan and John Cena.”
As plans currently stand expect Cody Rhodes to have a breakout WWE year in 2023 and to be a major focal point in the WWE Universe.
