Jay White headlined WrestleKingdom 15 vs Kota Ibushi for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and IWGP Intercontinental Championship and ever since his loss many have speculated on his future with the NJPW promotion.

After the match “Switchblade” claimed he was done with NJPW after the WrestleKingdom post show “New Years Dash” and was insinuating he was leaving.

This set off the wrestling community to start to speculate if Jay White would leave NJPW for WWE or AEW. As of now the Jay White leaving NJPW is simply a storyline to drive up hype and viewers.

Jay White still has years left on his NJPW contract and the reality of leaving is not happening anytime soon. Besides an active contract with NJPW there are also doubts as to how WWE will book White if he would decide to join the company in the future. WWE is notorious for signing big stars from other promotions only to book them weak in WWE and diminish their characters.

The word from NJPW offices is this may lead into a Jay White babyface turn. With so many heels already on the roster, the “Switch Blade” playing the role of a babyface would become an intriguing storyline. Stay tuned to SW for the latest updates.
