NXT Takeover’s will see a big change in schedule in 2020
This change starts Royal Rumble weekend as there will be no NXT Takeover event the night before the Royal Rumble 2020 taking place January, 26th at the Minute Maid Park in Houston, TX
As a replacement for the NXT Takeover, WWE has announced the “World’s Collide” event taking place the Saturday before the Rumble and will air on the WWE network.
The “World’s Collide” event will include stars from 205 Live, NXT, NXT UK and now may even include talent from Evolve.
WWE will be releasing a new NXT Takeover schedule for 2020 in the near future that these changes will carry through.
The latest word is that WWE decided to change the NXT Takeover schedule as a counter to AEW Pay Per Views.
WWE is discussing holding Takeover events the same days as AEW Pay Per Views as a way to strategically combat their competition and keep audiences tuned in to the WWE product.
NXT on USA and AEW on TNT will see these two shows face off 8-10pm every Wednesday night.
NXT vs AEW will be a crucial war for these companies to gain or lose market share to see who can pull in the highest ratings and draw the largest crowds.
NXT premiers on USA September, 18th 8pm-10pm ET
AEW premiers on TNT October, 2nd 8pm-10pm
Let the war begin.
