Gable Steveson (Age 21) is signed to WWE and is set to receive a monster push upon his arrival. The Olympic Gold Medalist has a impressive resume that includes
• 2020 Summer Olympic Gold Medalist
• Two-Time NCAA Division l National Champion
• Three-Time Big Ten Conference Champion (Four Time Finalist)
• Three-Time Age Group World Champion
Gable Steveson dominated his final NCAA run on Saturday as he won his second consecutive NCAA Division I national title in wrestling.
In front of a sold out Little Caesars Arena in Detroit and only months after winning an Olympic gold medal, Steveson defeated Arizona State’s Cohlton Schultz in the final match of the night to crown himself champion. He celebrated with his trademark backflip, then, as promised, left his shoes on the mat, signifying the end of his amateur wrestling career.
Vince McMahon, Triple H and Paul Heyman are all going to be involved in Gable Steveson WWE development. Vince McMahon, Triple H and Paul Heyman see Steveson as a hybrid between Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle and big plans are in store for this bright star.
Vince McMahon is planning to fast track Gable Steveson to the main roster and have him appear on the RAW brand. WWE has scheduled for Gable Steveson to appear at WrestleMania 38 and it will not take long for him to enter WWE Championship programs.
The signing of Gable Steveson has “re-ignited” Triple H’s passion for professional wrestling and with NIL “Next In Line” a new policy by the NCAA effective July 1, 2021, which ushered in the NIL era allowing college athletes the ability to monetize their name, image and likeness, WWE has constructed a comprehensive program to recruit and develop potential future Superstars. Dubbed “Next In Line™,” the groundbreaking NIL program will provide a clear pathway from college athletics to WWE through collaborative partnerships with college athletes from diverse athletic backgrounds. Triple H is beyond ecstatic to bring in more future WWE superstars and will now focus on signing college and MMA athletes as opposed to “Indy Wrestlers” which was his approach with the original NXT.
Paul Heyman will play a major role in Gable Steveson’s development including promo skills. Vince McMahon sees Steveson as the “Next Big Thing” and with this Dream Team of mentors behind him I say that’s a good bet. Stay tuned to Slice Wrestling for the latest updates.
