In January 2025 Slice Wrestling was informed that WWE had contacted AJ Lee to discuss plans on a return to the WWE Universe.
The early talks between AJ Lee and WWE were not official and very informal to just see where both sides were in the process.
WWE had been sending messages through CM Punk as a way for him to be an intermediary channel between the two sides.
CM Punk had also communicated to AJ Lee how things were different in WWE under the Triple H era and that he was treated with respect and welcomed back into the company.
WWE had also reached out to AJ Lee again in the Summer of 2025 which was more in detail and the two sides began having much more official talks and negotiations which we also exclusively reported to our Red Book subscribers.

AJ Lee has not been seen on WWE Television since the March 30th, 2015 RAW episode and after 10 years away from the WWE Universe a deal was struck for her return and a new chapter in her career is now being unveiled.
AJ Lee has signed a multi-year/multi-million dollar contract with WWE that will see her participate in exciting programs. WWE’s willingness to accommodate AJ Lee’s comic book writing and publishing commitments and allow her to have a flexible schedule were major selling points in this new deal.
Her return on SmackDown already has 93,000,000 million views in just 12 hours on all WWE’s social media channels.
The return of AJ Lee is also already a massive draw success as sales of her new “Love Bites Back” T-Shirt have sold over 7,000 pre-orders in just the first two hours of going up for sale on WWE Shop.
WWE will be presenting AJ Lee as a major superstar legend from the Divas Era that will see her take on some of the top stars in the WWE Women’s Division.
