WWE selected Kevin Owens to face Roman Reigns at this pay-per-view due to Owens being a formidable opponent for “The Head Of The Table”. Kevin Owens is highly regarded backstage and the locker room view him as one of the best all around professional wrestlers on the entire roster.
Talent, great in-ring work, accolades and high praise all go out the window when you step into the ring with “The Tribal Cheif” Roman Reigns. He is operating on a entirely different level from the rest of the roster and WWE views Roman Reigns as the top superstar in the company.
WWE wants Roman to have a dominant run heading into WrestleMania 37 season and there are no plans for him to step down from the throne anytime soon.
