John Cena, the 16x WWE Champion is at the twilight of his legendary career.
Like The Undertaker, John Cena had a cinematic match at WrestleMania 36 which was praised by his colleagues and WWE fans. The Firefly Funhouse match was a cinematic wrestling history lesson looking back at key moments of Cena’s career and milestone moments of WWE and WCW.
John Cena and Bray Wyatt worked together on the Firefly Funhouse match and the ending, well the ending was just as bizarre as the rest of the match that left many fans wondering as to what is next for John Cena.
Is John Cena retiring? the answer is yes and no.
At this moment John Cena is heading back to his movie making career and begin preparations for his next projects. John Cena always planned on doing WrestleMania 36 and he made sure to keep his schedule open and available for WrestleMania weekend.
We shouldn’t expect John Cena back in WWE anytime soon, and there are no offers from WWE at the moment for him to appear or have any matches. In fact the earliest we should expect John Cena back is for WrestleMania 37 in 2021.
We most likely will never get a full-time John Cena again and his current priority is with movies. John Cena will never turn WWE down and if needed he would make a surprise or guest appearances at the big shows such as WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, Survivor Series and Survivor Series.
John Cena currently still remains at 16x WWE Championships and fans also speculate if WWE will ever give him the coveted number 17. This will rely on John Cena and if he ever commits to appearing more and going on a WWE Championship run.
The future of John Cena is just as mysterious as the finish of The Firefly Funhouse match, he made sure to stay true to his most famous quote “You Can’t See Me.”
