The WWE Women’s Tag-Team titles made their debut on the January 14th, 2019 episode of Monday Night RAW during a “Moment of Bliss” segment hosted by Alexa Bliss.
The first WWE Women’s Tag-Team Champions were “The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection” (Sasha Banks & Bayley). Since then many women tag-teams have held the titles and the most current being DAMAGE CTRL (IYO Sky & Dakota Kai).
Now WWE is discussing giving the Women’s Tag-Team Championships an updated redesign look.
The sleeker updated version will have a bigger “W” in the middle similar to other WWE Championships.
WWE officials want the titles to look more prestigious and similar to other WWE titles and multiple early models mock samples have already been produced and sent to WWE headquarters in Stamford, CT for final approval from top WWE officials.
Stephanie McMahon is said to have the final decision on which Women’s Tag-Team Championships redesign to be produced as she is very hands on with the WWE Women’s division.
Expect WWE to unveil the redesigned Women’s Tag-Team Championships on WWE television in the coming months. Stay tuned to SW for the latest updates.
