WWE is actively discussing the return of the Fiend. Bray Wyatt returned at Extreme Rules on October 8th 2022.
Since then Bray Wyatt has been teasing multiple different horror characters most notably Mr. Howdy. As we progress towards a weird and twisted White Rabbit conspiracy storyline the only thing clear is that these different characters are all different.
WWE has been highly secretive on all Bray Wyatt creative plans but one particular leak indicates that the Fiend is set to return.
Vince McMahon who is slowly returning to WWE creative power (read below) wants The Fiend character back on WWE programming as The Fiend is a huge merchandise seller and ticket sales draw for WWE. Vince McMahon is also responsible for the Firefly Funhouse return as Vince McMahon continues to have influence over the WWE product.
WWE is being cautious with The Fiend character as WWE superstars find it difficult to match up against The Fiend. They feel with no dialogue in promos and limited interaction to build upon it is hard to get over on The Fiend.
WWE wants The Fiend to appear at WrestleMania as that character is a huge merchandise money maker for WWE along with a marketable match.
