The Inner Circle is quickly becoming the most powerful stable in professional wrestling.
Chris Jericho is the mastermind behind the creation of The Inner Circle as he was a fan of each members work before recruiting them.
The new faction first appeared at the end of the debut episode of Dynamite and includes Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Jake Hager, Santana & Ortiz.
This new heel stable will run roughshod over AEW and will bully their way to achieve their goals by any means necessary.
Jake Hager was at first hesitant about returning to professional wrestling but in a recent interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani he revealed it was Jericho who convinced him to become “All Elite”
“It’s been an amazing process since I left (WWE) and came out on my own and invested in myself and got to choose the people I wanted to work with. This was a no brainer. This is the best thing that could have happened. It was all teased and a little bit of fun and then this summer, the greatest wrestler in the world, Chris Jericho, started recruited me heavily to come to AEW. When Jericho comes calling, you don’t say no.” -Jake Hager
Hager was intrigued with working with AEW due to Jericho’s vision and experience with re-inventing characters and Jericho will have major influence on character development in AEW especially talents who need help developing promo skills.
The plan for The Inner Circle is to run through the AEW roster while protecting Chris Jericho on his run as the inaugural AEW World Heavyweight Champion.
AEW has deliberately booked all the Executive Vice Presidents (Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks) to be in uphill battle situations.
AEW officials were adamant about this and didn’t want any negative feedback towards the Executive Vice Presidents due to special treatment. A mistake WWE made with “The Authority” heel faction of Stephanie McMahon, Triple H, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins and Kane.
Chris Jericho’s reign as AEW World Heavyweight Champion is planned to be fairly lengthy run and a female star is being discussed to be added to The Inner Circle.
