The Royal Rumble card is in the process of being close to finalized as we are almost on the road to WrestleMania.
Recently Vince McMahon has been reluctant to announce matches way ahead of pay-per-views and is always changing plans during the course of storylines.
Two matches set for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view are
• WWE RAW Women’s Championship Becky Lynch vs Asuka
• WWE Universal Championship The Fiend vs Daniel Bryan
WWE is discussing the following possible matches but has not finalized
• WWE Championship Brock Lesnar vs TBD
• RAW Tag-Team Championship
The O.C. vs The Viking Raiders
• WWE United Rey Mysterio vs Andrade
For the Royal Rumble men’s and women’s matches WWE is discussing to possibly include RAW, SmackDown and NXT rosters with 10 participants from each WWE brand to compete.
• RAW 10 participants
• SmackDown 10 participants
• NXT 10 participants (possibly less)
Each WWE brand would be represented in the 2020 Royal Rumble men’s and women’s matches and give NXT a bigger presence and more main stream exposure.
Vince McMahon has not agreed to let NXT participate in the Royal Rumble matches and this is a idea Triple H is pushing for as he is projecting that NXT will benefit from appearing on a bigger stage and will result in higher ratings helping WWE win the “Wednesday Night Wars”.
Vince McMahon like always will make the final call on all booking decisions but internally WWE officials are pushing for RAW or NXT stars to win the Royal Rumble matches.
