WWE and The Rock held a top secret meeting to discuss a potential WrestleMania 39 appearance WWE sources tell SW.
The meeting which was attended by The Rock, Roman Reigns, Vince McMahon, Triple H and Paul Heyman via video chat was a formality to see if all sides could come to a verbal agreement for the Rock to appear at WrestleMania 39 in Hollywood, CA.
Vince McMahon was adamant that this would be the perfect storm for The Rock to return due to the Hollywood location of WrestleMania. Roman Reigns expressed his interest in a Rock vs Roman showdown due to the Samoan family heritage in professional wrestling and the Bloodline/Samoan dynasty being the perfect storyline for these two to collide. Triple H weighed in on the importance of this opportunity and to not let this slip by. Paul Heyman who has been writing almost all of the Bloodline’s promo’s and segments assured The Rock that quality of the program with Roman Reigns would be great classic cinema.
The Rock also expressed interest in a potential match and the XFL re-launch was also brought up due to the football league launching close to WrestleMania. WWE officials assured that a promotion roll out would take place in the dates leading up to the XFL launch on all WWE programming.
WWE would want The Rock to appear at the 2023 Royal Rumble to set up the dream match against Roman Reigns but backup plans were put in place in the event The Rock does appear at the Royal Rumble premium live event.
WWE also discussed with The Rock for him to make a surprise appearance at WrestleMania 39 that would send shock waves throughout the WWE Universe. Another meeting is said to take place in February to discuss further plans and details but The Rock was interested in the many different factors that play into his return.
