All hell broke loose at the WWE RAW event taking place from the Norfolk Scope Arena in Norfolk, VA.
WWE Women’s Tag-Team Champions Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out over a “creative dispute” with WWE officials that sent the creative scrambling to come up last minute changes.
Sasha and Naomi were originally supposed to be in the main event for the number one contender for the RAW Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair.
Naomi was too win that match and set up a Bianca Belair vs Naomi program and there was also a discussion for Sasha Banks to have a program with Ronda Rousey.
Neither women were planed to win any single WWE championships and also there was no plans for their WWE Tag-Team Championships to be featured or defended until July or later.
This did sit well with Sasha and Naomi and made their voices heard. They requested meetings with a top WWE official and were told to respect the writing team’s work and go along with the storylines.
They refused and felt that they were not being respected as WWE Champions and WWE SuperStars to just be “title holders” with no defenses and no real plan except to be “enhancements” for Bianca Belair and Ronda Rousey.
We previously reported (read below) on WWE’s plans to make Ronda Rousey’s championship reign long and this did not sit well with them.
This is not the first incident where Sasha has had issues with WWE Officials.
There have been numerous disputes and arguments many due to Sasha never really successfully defending her championships on Pay-Per-Views and there is also the issue she had with WWE regarding her appearance on The Mandalorian Disney Plus series. Saha did not like that WWE never helped her promote her appearance on the show since WWE is usually the first to jump at any chance to feature the WWE brand and superstars on any main stream media.
WWE has made no secret to make Bianca Belair a top priority and the main female star on RAW it is definitely a new era since the four-horsewomen era and these situations can cause frustrations and issues when new stars arrive.
WWE sources tell us that Naomi being married to Jimmy Uso of the “Bloodline” gives her “Some Insurance” but WWE will have to have a formal meeting with Sasha Banks regarding her future.
