WWE is looking at booking a interesting concept for The Fiend’s defeated characters.
WWE is experimenting with the idea that every time The Fiend defeats his opponent they return to their former selves.
• Finn Bálor Returns To NXT
• Seth Rollins Turns Heel
• Daniel Bryan Returns As American Dragon
WWE is quietly turning superstars to their former selves as a way to refreshen their characters.
The concept comes from The Fiend’s “Hurt or Heal” gimmick that The Fiend wears on his gloves. WWE is telling a very intricate story that if you go against The Fiend he will “Hurt” (defeat) you and then “Heal” (revert your character) you.
It’s a fascinating idea and has worked brilliantly so far for the super stars such as:
• Finn Bálor: After Finn Bálor lost to The Fiend at SummerSlam he returned to NXT where he is currently on that roster. Finn Bálor Main WWE Career accomplishments was while he was in NXT.
• Seth Rollins: After Seth Rollins lost to The Fiend on Halloween at Crown Jewel, Rollins’ went back to being a heel and formed a three-man Shield type stable with the Authors of Pain. A heel role has been Seth’s strongest performance since his beginning.
• Daniel Bryan: After Daniel Bryan lost to The Fiend at Survivor Series he returned at TLC as American Dragon Daniel Bryan which was his ring name when he entered the newly formed Ring of Honor in 2002, The “American Dragon” has been a favorite of fans all over the world.
Up to this point The Fiend has “Healed” many of his defeated opponents and given their characters a much needed boost.
WWE is looking to continue this storytelling going forward and The Fiend is expected to continue being “The Ruler Of The Universe” for the foreseeable future.
The Fiend vs Roman Reigns is the current plan for WrestleMania 36 and we can’t wait to see how many more opponents The Fiend “Heals” till then.
