Last night on RAW Paul Heyman dropped a bombshell on the WWE Universe by announcing that The Beast Brock Lesnar will be entering the 2020 Royal Rumble match as the very first entrant.
WWE is looking to draw big hype for the Royal Rumble PPV and this was the perfect way to set it up.
The main reason WWE Officials decided to have the WWE Champion enter the Royal Rumble was that they did not have a clear cut opponent determined to face Brock at WrestleMania.
Instead this will buy WWE more time to figure out who exactly they want to face Brock at Mania 36.
The idea to include Brock Lesnar in the 2020 Royal Rumble match was brainstormed by Paul Heyman & Vince McMahon
WWE does have an idea of who they will pick but the final decision has yet to be made.
The internal list that WWE has for Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania 36 opponents has four names on the list and it includes on one star from RAW, SmackDown and NXT rosters.
There is a fourth that is a Legendary WWE SuperStar and he will have to return for this to happen.
The WWE Championship has not been in discussions to be included in the Royal Rumble match and only Vince McMahon would change that stipulation if he thinks it would work, but at the current time of this publishing no action has been taken.
The plan right now is for Brock Lesnar to run through 28 other superstars in dominant fashion leaving the 30th entrant a surprise.
That final entrant will be Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania 36 opponent.
The road to WrestleMania 36 is officially underway and it is truly going to be a wild ride. Stay tuned to Slice Wrestling for the latest updates.
